About Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society: Volunteer Details

We need horse people to foster horses throughout Texas. We also need horse enthusiasts to help check up on adopted and fostered horses (need to be familiar with horses but not an expert) and to trailer horses.
We have plenty of volunteer opportunities that do not require horse experience: helping at fundraising events, helping with volunteer management, with fundraisers and grant writing, with marketing, etc. We can find a place for everyone!
We need volunteers to help with:
Booth Coordinator
March 1, 2024 12:00pm
Talking to people in person is the best way to teach people about Bluebonnet, what we do, and how they can get more involved. We used to holds booths at horse events, community events, feed and tack stores, etc. to hand out info about Bluebonnet, talk about our horses and upcoming events, and take donations. This is something we need to re-engage.
We need a Booth Coordinator who can help find booth opportunities, recruit volunteers to staff them, and make sure the volunteers have what they need to run a successful booth.

Foster Home
March 1, 2024 12:00pm
We need folks with the space and time to foster horses. We pay for all pre-approved veterinary care, supplements, and medications. We pay for hoof trimming and deworming, and we offer a stipend of $80-$200 (depending on the horse) to help offset most of the costs of hay/grain.
We epsecially need foster homes who can ride green horses, figure out what a horse knows, and/or work with horses with little past handling.
If you are interested but do not have experience in rehabilitating a horse, we do offer foster homes mentoring.

Trailering
March 1, 2024 12:00pm
We need people with trucks and trailers to help us more horses to new foster homes, get horses to events, and get horses to the veterinarian. We pay a mileage stipend to cover the cost of fuel.
Media Relations
February 17, 2025 12:00pm
We are seeking a volunteer experienced with media relations to help publicize Bluebonnet events, get Bluebonnet in the news, and spread awareness of the rescue.
