We are the largest bike advocacy organization in the Central Valley with the mission of promoting bicycling as a fun, safe, convenient, and environmentally friendly form of everyday transportation in Kern County.
Since opening in 2005, we have distributed over 1,000 refurbished bicycles brought to residents in need by the hard work of volunteers. We helped certify 7 League of American Bicyclists Cycling Instructors who all continue to help educate cyclists of all skill levels, ages, and socioeconomic statuses.
We give citizen cyclists to tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to be safe and accepted on the road. These citizen cyclists include lycra-clad road racers and mountain bikers, children and families strolling through neighborhoods, commuters who get to work on a bike, and the low-income and homeless populations we serve in our downtown Bakersfield and Arvin Bike Kitchens.
