About Be a Big Brother or Big Sister

You have a big opportunity in front of you - to not only impact a child’s life today, but to Ignite their potential for tomorrow. We are looking for people eager to positively impact a child through mentoring and improve their community at the same time. Big Brothers and Big Sisters are in high demand. For a few hours, a couple times a month, you can give a Little the invaluable gift of your friendship*. By simply changing their perspective of what the world can offer, you can literally start changing their lives. And sometimes it’s as simple as playing video games, going to a museum, or just hanging out together.

Community Based Program:
A match between a child and a mentor that meet one-to-one, at a time that is agreed upon by the mentor and parent/guardian. Typically matches will meet on the weekends or evenings. Community based activities can include but are not limited to, visits to the park, museum or for coffee or ice cream. The child and mentor must meet a minimum of three hours per month. All matches are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a mask when meeting.

Virtual Based Program:
A match between a child and mentor that meet virtually through Zoom, FaceTime and/or text. This particular setting provides a safe environment for the Big and Little during COVID-19. Bigs and Littles can talk about their day, play video games together, cook a recipe together, and even work on homework together all through an online platform.

*Due to COVID-19 the need for BIGs has grown exponentially. The volunteer process can be done virtually and we have great ways to meet with your Little virtually. Join us today and be a BIG!
