About Adopt A Site

The Bedford Stuyvesant Early Childhood Development Center (BSECDC), established in 1966, is the longest standing African-American Head Start program in the Northeast. The organization has consistently provided high-quality early childhood education and comprehensive family support services to countless families within the Bedford Stuyvesant community for over five decades. BSECDC continues to serve as a beacon of hope, opportunity, and promise, operating expansive programs across our six locations throughout Bedford Stuyvesant.
Every BSECDC center offers a secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment conducive to children's learning, growth, and success. Our highly qualified and experienced staff is committed to equipping children with the tools and support necessary for academic and life achievement. The curriculum, aligned with New York State's Early Learning Standards, aims to foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
