About Buds and Bark: Winter Tree ID Field Study

This field study shows you how to identify trees the hard way—without their leaves! Dr. David Hewitt, an Academy research associate, will describe how to identify trees using their bark, buds, and structure. We’ll explore Bartram’s Garden and then head inside to warm up, practice our skills, and discuss the trees’ history and roles in our ecosystem. This field study is being held at Bartram’s Garden, in partnership with the Academy of Natural Sciences

$20 members of both the Academy and/or Bartram’s Garden, $25 non-members

Registration is limited. Teachers can earn three Act 48 credits.
