About Youth Activity Facilitator

Seeking several volunteers to be positive role models while actively engaging youth in wellness curriculum. Best candidates will dedicate 2 hours, each scheduled evening. Other volunteers may commit to as many events as they are able.
The Healthier Families program (created by Vanderbilt University), which offers family nutritional education and cooking classes, will be taking place in the Baker Neighborhood in Lansing. This opportunity is in partnership with AmeriCorps Michigan, Power of We Consortium, and the City of Lansing.
Full Schedule, Tuesdays, 4:30-6:30pm:

5/15: Choose Healthy Foods
5/22: Be an Active Family
5/29: Find A Fitness Home
6/5: Healthy Snacks and Drinks
6/12: Use Media Wisely
6/19: Mindful Eating
6/26: Eat Together
(NO class July 3rd)
7/10: Engaged Parenting
7/17: Plan Healthy Meals
7/24: Sleep Matters
7/31: Bringing it All Home

Each evening, volunteers will take over lead as children branch off from main group, facilitate the evening's wellness activities, then re-join the main group for a light cooking tutorial and meal.
