About Eco Waste Management

We seek volunteers who are experienced eco waste management to develop and execute a comprehensive plan to control the waste and pollution on our islands. The local communities lack the capacity, awareness and knowledge to deal with this subject matter and hence we are unable to solve the problems arising from the mismanagement of waste. Volunteers will be involved significantly in community organizing efforts and awareness campaigns targeted at local schools and neighbourhoods. Volunteers will get a chance to closely work with the local authorities, community leaders and youth to plan and execute this project.

Apart from being involved with eco waste management activities, volunteers can be a part of other programmes such as marine conservation and teaching in their spare time. Your assistance would be valuable to the other volunteers. During weekends, you can look forward to picnics on un-inhabited Islands, snorkelling and fishing trips.
As with all our programmes we would confirm your participation in eco waste management programme after carefully reviewing your CV. If you would like to request for a change in your placement to another programme you can request 20 days in advance with a letter supporting your interest in that programme.
Volunteers can expect a friendly environment and great team support from Atoll Volunteers for all their activities.
Volunteers who have committed three months of their time will be in the running to win the Best International Volunteer Award. This will be awarded yearly by Atoll Volunteers on International Volunteer Day (December 5).
