About Botany and Gardening Management
We seek volunteers who are experienced in gardening and have a good knowledge of botany to manage the community park and garden we are currently developing on our island. This community park will provide a safe meeting space for the local residents, especially youth and children, to interact and socialize. We will plant different species of trees and construct a playground in the park. Volunteers will also get to travel to nearby islands to collect tree samples. Volunteers will get a chance to closely work with the local authorities, community leaders and youth to plan and execute this project.
We need volunteers to help with:
Botany and Gardening Management
Apart from being involved with botany and gardening activities, volunteers can be a part of other programmes such as marine conservation and eco waste management in their spare time. Your assistance would be valuable to the other volunteers. During weekends, you can look forward to picnics on un-inhabited Islands, snorkelling and fishing trips.
As with all our programmes we would confirm your participation in the botany and gardening programme after carefully reviewing your CV. If you would like to request for a change in your placement to another programme you can request 20 days in advance with a letter supporting your interest in that programme.
Volunteers can expect a friendly environment and great team support from Atoll Volunteers for all their activities.
Volunteers who have committed three months of their time will be in the running to win the Best International Volunteer Award. This will be awarded yearly by Atoll Volunteers on International Volunteer Day (December 5).
