About Atlas DIY Board of Directors

The Atlas board of directors is a diverse mix of youth and community leaders responsible for and dedicated to supporting immigrant youth.

Atlas: DIY is looking for potential board members who:

• Demonstrate commitment to the mission of Atlas: DIY and to supporting immigrant rights and a strong belief in the agency and capacity of young people to be leaders and changemakers
• Are flexible and willing to go above and beyond as community volunteers
• Consistently meet agreed on expectations and follow through on their commitments
• Are curious, open and willing to learn
• Will be passionate advocates about the issues and challenges facing immigrant youth and their communities
• Are willing to work in close collaboration with Atlas youth members who also serve as voting members of our board of directors
• Able to thrive in culturally diverse settings

Specific board responsibilities

• All Community Members (explained below) of the Atlas board must commit to meeting an annual $5,000 “give or get” fundraising requirement
• Participating in quarterly full board meetings
• Participating in regular committee work
• Be a passionate and aggressive fundraiser for the organization
• Be an active and engaged member of the board of directors, meeting all legal and fiduciary responsibilities as a Director
