About Horizons Volunteers

Horizons Atlanta at Atlanta International School is a six-week summer enrichment program for low-income students that helps prevent “summer slide”– the well documented loss of learning that occurs during the summer. Horizons’ efforts are aimed at eliminating the achievement gap for low-income students in Metro Atlanta. By providing a safe and nurturing environment, recreational and cultural activities, nutritious meals and snacks, caring professional teachers and creative, challenging instruction we unlock a student’s potential to achieve.

Job Responsibilities:
Volunteer for approximately 15 students during a six week summer enrichment program.
Volunteer will be assigned to carpool or bus supervision duty over the course of the summer.
Volunteer are required to attend all field trips, participate in swimming and in daily meals with the students
Horizons is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer with a dynamic talent of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge in children.
Volunteer must work as a team player to help fulfill the Horizons mission.
Commitment Level:

Volunteers will be available to volunteer for one day, one week, two weeks etc
Volunteers will be assigned to duties based upon their individual strengths
Volunteers must commit to finishing the duty assigned to them during the time they will serve.
