About Ways to Volunteer

1. Information Services
Information Services volunteers offer advice and answer questions for travelers. To make your job easier, we have maps, bus schedules, brochures, and other resources available. We have morning and afternoon shifts available.

2. Kitchen Connection Event Coordinator
Some of the best conversations occur in our fully equipped communal kitchens. The Kitchen Connection Event Coordinator prepares a meal from a set menu and encourages the involvement of our hostellers.

3. Nintendo Wii Night Host
This is the perfect opportunity to use your gaming skills. Facilitate and enjoy an evening playing the Nintendo Wii with our travelers.

4. Local Guide
Every week, we organize trips to San Diego’s most intriguing neighborhoods, attractions, and special events. The most successful and meaningful trips are those led by local residents!

5. Speakers Bureau
If you are enthusiastic about travel, and want to educate others who are interested, you might want to get involved with our Speakers Bureau. Presentations include “World Travel 101,” “Women Traveling Solo,” “Demystifying Hostels,” and other topics of interest to the local community. This is a wonderful way to share your passion for travel!

6. Fundraising and Special Events
Our opportunities to volunteer extend outside of our hostels. We have several fundraisers and community outreach events throughout the year that include the annual Peace Conference, Midnight Madness and Christmas Bike Rides bringing community members and hostellers together.

7. Group Services and Educational Community Programs
We work with large groups of children and community members to achieve educational purposes. Become part of our community team to help bring our missions alive!
