About Blood Donor Ambassador

A Blood Donor Ambassador provides excellent and enthusiastic customer service, thereby enhancing the donor experience. Serving as an ambassador, canteen volunteer, and registrar all enmesh the Red Cross in more fulfilling and enduring relationships with its blood donors.

The American Red Cross of Southwest Michigan is seeking approximately 75 individuals to volunteer in this capacity.

Line of service: Volunteer Services

Purpose: Provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience.

Primary responsibilities:
*Engage with donors to make the donation experience fulfilling and set the stage for a long-term commitment to regular blood donations
*Model excellent customer service behaviors · Ensure blood donors have relevant information and that questions are answered appropriately
*Registration, canteen, and loading are key positions at blood drives.

Time Commitment/Availability: Variable; preferred commitment one shift per month

Apply to volunteer with the Red Cross at the following link: http://rdcrss.org/1jwIkp1 Then, enter your zip code, and when the next page appears, click “Michigan Region.” From there, choose “Prospective Adult Volunteer” (Or youth, if appropriate). Then, you can enter your personal information to apply to volunteer. You have the option of registering a facebook page at that point. Concurrently, you will need to consent to a background check. When all that's completed, we'll call you for an intake interview, and place you in the need of ours that fits your interests and skills best!

Training: Training will be provided to interested volunteers.
