Support Red Cross mission
Duties vary based on assigned clinic
May include greeting patients and family members, escorting patients, answering phones, assisting with VA kiosk registration.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Maintain professionalism as stated in Red Cross policy
Ensure that volunteer hours are tracked per Red Cross policy
Time Commitment:
Flexible, with a scheduled commitment.
Qualifications:
American Red Cross background check
Additional security clearance may be required by hospital in compliance with government regulations
Basic administrative skills
Customer service skills
Willingness to learn
Ability to work well with others, even in sometimes stressful situations
Relationships
ARC volunteer leadership, ARC volunteers, ARC staff, Department Supervisor, Department staff, patients and family members
Length of Appointment
As long as mutually desired
Development Opportunities
Opportunity to assist military members and their families in a clinic setting
Attend relevant training
Requirements:
Orientation to American Red Cross
Any required hospital/clinic training
All appropriate in-service training as determined by supervisor
HIPAA training
TB Test (provided free of charge)
On the job training
Purpose:
Provide assistance with tasks in a clinic setting, such as Pharmacy, Family Medicine, Physical Therapy, Emergency Medicine, etc.

This takes you directly to the Volunteer Application page found on the Red Cross website. Completion of the application consists of registering for orientation, reading and agreeing to the code of conducts and policies of the Red Cross, and completion a background check.
