Support Red Cross mission
Deliver information pertaining to Red Cross services and answer questions in public forums such as deployment briefings, Family Readiness meetings, welcome briefings, with an audience size varying from small to very large numbers.
Deliver information pertaining to Red Cross services and answer questions in a more "face to face" format such as community and deployment fairs
Provide appropriate referrals
Report number of people attending event to ARC SAFstaff
Maintain a briefing bag with all necessary items
Maintain professionalism and conduct as stated in Red Cross policy
Ensure that volunteer hours are tracked per Red Cross policy
Time Commitment:
Flexible. Hours vary weekly.
Qualifications:
American Red Cross background check
Ability to communicate effectively in a public setting; enjoys public speaking
Ability to interact with all kinds of people
Some computer skills and knowledge of PowerPoint preferred.
Flexible and able to adapt quickly to schedule changes
Knowledge of Red Cross policy
Knowledge of military and community resources
Relationships
SAF Staff, Chapter Staff, Volunteers, Military Families and Personnel.
Length of Appointment
As long as mutually desired
Development Opportunities
Raise awareness to the military community and familes about the valuable services offered by their local American Red Cross office. Attend relevant workshops.

Serve to educate the military community and their families by conducting briefings and/or information/community fairs.

This takes you directly to the Volunteer Application page found on the Red Cross website. Completion of the application consists of registering for orientation, reading and agreeing to the code of conducts and policies of the Red Cross, and completion a background check.
