About Disaster Responder for American Red Cross (Disaster Action Team Member)
Respond on-scene to house fires (or other local disasters) to provide resources, comfort and hope to those family members affected.
While not considered first responders in the technical sense, DAT members are typically the first people at a disaster scene who provide comfort and direct assistance to help those who have been affected as they begin the recovery process. When disaster strikes, DAT members are the people dispatched to help.
