HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our priority is to support civil society projects led by local nonprofit and grassroots organizations. We focus in the fields of HEALTH, EDUCATION and ECONOMIC and SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, to benefit CHILDREN and YOUTH.

America Solidaria supports these local projects by providing highly skilled volunteers capable of furthering the work of nonprofit institutions and seeking to increase the impact and ability of individuals and communities to become empowered and raise their standards of living.

No specific background or technical experience is necessary, as each individual volunteer placement will require different specific skills.

Each AS fellow makes a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project, which includes an out-of-country orientation that provides cross-cultural, technical, health and safety skills.

They live in the communities where they serve, from small rural villages to large urban centers.
Typically, AS fellows serve on different projects at the same host organization with two other volunteers from AS- usually from another country- of the Americas.

BENEFITS
1)Travel to and from country of service
2)Visa expenses
3)Placement at a Host Organization
4)Housing and monthly living stipend
5)Health insurance
6)Alumni Americas Network
7)Out-of-country two weeks orientation
