About Last Saturday Food Distribution

A 5-day supply of surplus fresh produce and staple foods distributed by volunteers once a month to serve about 600 families referred by social service agencies and ALIVE! congregations.


We need volunteers to help with:

Volunteers are needed to help bag and distribute nonperishable food and fresh produce to low-income families at one of three locations in Alexandria: Cora Kelly Recreational Center (25 West Reed Avenue); Ladrey Senior Residence (300 Wythe Street); and Church of the Resurrection (2280 N. Beauregard).
Dates: The last Saturday of every month, January through October, and the second Saturday in December. (This event won't be held in November.)
Time: Approximately 8:30 a.m.–12:00 noon

This is a great Friday workout with time for dinner and drinks afterward. Volunteers help unload food from the ALIVE! truck at Cora Kelly Recreation Center in preparation for the Last Saturday Food Distribution. Hand trucks are provided.
Date: The last Friday of every month, January through October, and the second Friday in December. (This event won't occur in November.)
