About Certified Long-Term Care Ombudsman
After completing a 36-hour certification course Ombudsmen regularly visit an assigned long-term care facility to monitor conditions and care, and provide a voice for those unable to speak for themselves. The Ombudsmen visit a minimum of two hours a week and help provide education, consultation, and advocacy to empower the residents.

An application, background check, and interview are a part of the application process.
