About Meal Specialist

General responsibilities of a Vegetable/Meal Specialist may include:
Prepare/chop/mince/dice/cut food items in preparation for distribution to food bowls
Assemble meals for rehabs and residents
Load and unload the dishwashers
Wash/dry dishes by hand as needed
Maintain orderly prep/kitchen area
Update shopping list
Sweep & Mop floors in kitchen area
Wipe cabinets/appliances/sink
Empty trash bins that are full

Requirements for all volunteers at Acorn Acres:
Must be at least 25 years of age and possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have reliable transportation and be lawfully licensed to operate.
Must commit to schedule of at least 4 hours, same day, same shift, weekly for a minimum of 6 months.
Must be willing to work in all conditions, including outdoors. Must be able to stand for your entire shift.
Must be prompt and dress appropriately for working conditions.
Must be able to work independently.
Must sign a volunteer agreement, waiver of liability, and complete a (free) state background check.
