About General Maintenance

The general responsibilities of the General Maintenance position may include:
Assist with overall cleaning of common areas
Mopping/sweeping throughout as needed to help specialists
Assist with overflow of bin cleaning/sanitization
Assist with laundry as needed to help with overflow
Assist with all tasks as it relates to keeping the building operating
Change light bulbs
Wash windows as needed
Mowing lawn
Light weeding of beds
Removing snow
Assist Inventory Count/Countess with stocking items

Requirements for all volunteers at Acorn Acres:
Must be at least 25 years of age and possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have reliable transportation and be lawfully licensed to operate.
Must commit to schedule of at least 4 hours, same day, same shift, weekly for a minimum of 6 months.
Must be willing to work in all conditions, including outdoors. Must be able to stand for your entire shift.
Must be prompt and dress appropriately for working conditions.
Must be able to work independently.
Must sign a volunteer agreement, waiver of liability, and complete a (free) state background check.
