About Jamestown Regional Celtic Festival & Gathering of the Clans

We are seeking volunteers to help out at the Festival on August 26th & 27th 2016. This is our 11 Annual Festival. Detailed information is available at www.96thhighlanders.com/festival.html. Volunteers are the major support of the festival you would be working with great people who come together to setup on Fridays and Saturday morning, Work different aspects of the festival during the festival on Saturday from 7AM to 11PM. We do not expect volunteers to work all day but in shifts. These are listed on our volunteer registration form which can be located on our web page listed above. The day is filled with 9 bagpipe bands playing all day and 9 Celtic Music groups performing in three different music tents through out the festival grounds located at the Mayville Lakeside Park Mayville, New York.
This festival is an opportunity for bands from two countries and three states to perform, exchange music and ideas, and educate the public on Scottish and Irish culture in a friendly and cooperative atmosphere. Such festivals take place all over the United States and Canada, and it is a feather in Chautauqua County’s cap that ours is a highly sought after venue. Bands and vendors request the opportunity to participate in our festival, and our festival generates the opportunity for the 96th Highlanders to act as Jamestown and Chautauqua County’s representatives at other festivals. We currently host 9 Pipe Bands and 9 Celtic Bands and two different dancing schools annually. We currently have 21Clans registered for this years festival. The Clans educate the community on the heritage if the Irish and Scottish Cultures.
It is also an important outreach opportunity for the 96th Highlanders. It is one of only two such festivals within a 100 mile radius of Jamestown, and as such provides a meeting place for the Scottish Clans and an opportunity to educate and entertain the residents of Chautauqua County, many whom attend every year and bring their out-of-town friends and family. Jamestown and Chautauqua County have always been very supportive of the 96th Highlanders and in return the festival brings people and business to the area, thus raising the county’s profile as a summer entertainment venue.
Your support as a sponsor will help us continue to provide these services to our community
