About 2017 Summer School Tutors

Help students stay on target in academics and social skills!

The 21st CCLC: Transformers and Trailblazers need tutors to assist with our summer school program at the following 4 district schools: West Elementary School in Sturgis (2nd-5th grades), Henderson Ward Stewart (2nd - 4th grades) Overstreet Elementary School (5th grade), and Armstrong Middle School (6th-8th grades). Our program will run during the 2017 summer each Monday - Friday from June 5 - 30, with the option to volunteer in one hour blocks between 7:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Volunteers will be assisting the certified teacher by tutoring students in Math, Science and Language Arts in a traditional classroom setting.

We are asking that volunteers make a commitment of volunteering at least once a week for 1 hour for the entire school semester. (Please note that the Transformers and Trailblazers programs occur year-round, so volunteers are also needed throughout the school year.)

Application Process

Volunteers must be 18 years of age and complete an application and a background check. Options for obtaining the background check can be discussed upon request.
Please note that volunteer commitment is on-going and NOT available for drop-in service.
All volunteers must attend an orientation prior to volunteering. Our volunteer orientations have not been set for the summer program at this time, but for more information, contact Amanda Adams at 662-615-0033 or [email protected].
