About Become a Child Advocate
A CASA volunteer Advocate is a trained volunteer child advocate appointed by a Magistrate Judge of the First Judicial District to represent the best interest of children who are abused and neglected and are involved in active Child Protective Act cases.
The primary responsibilities of a CASA Volunteer Advocate are to:
Gather information: Review documents and records, interview the children, family members and professional in their lives.
Provide written reports at court hearings.
Appear in court: Advocate for the child’s best interests.
Be there for the child through required monthly contact.
Recommend services.
Monitor case plans and court orders
Program Support:
CASA Volunteers Advocates are strongly supported by experienced, caring staff. You will not be alone as you speak for abused children.
