Dr. Paul Vermette Teacher Education Scholarship

The College of Education offers programs in teacher education, educational leadership, school and clinical mental health counseling, school psychology, and applied behavior analysis.  This year the College of Education is dedicating all funds raised from the Day of Giving to the Dr. Paul Vermette Teacher Education Scholarship.  Dr. V retired from full-time teaching in May of 2020, after a 35-year career at Niagara University.  We would like to honor his dedication to preparing teachers for service in schools throughout the United States and Canada, with an emphasis on motivating adolescent students through active engagement, collaboration, relationship building, and social emotional learning.  This scholarship will honor his passion and commitment to developing teachers with “heart.”

All of the funds will go toward our efforts to raise $50,000 for an endowed scholarship.  Once we achieve this goal we will use the annual proceeds of the endowment for undergraduate and graduate tuition paying scholarships in teacher education.
