Nada Marie Anid

Nada Anid passed away on September 28, 2021.

Nada Marie Anid, Ph.D., joined New York Tech in 2009 as the first female dean of the NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences. As dean, she spearheaded the creation of New York Tech's NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, its federally and state-funded Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC), and its Empire State Development's Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation (NYSTAR)-certified business incubator.

Long an advocate for women pursuing education and career opportunities, Nada was instrumental in launching the Women’s Corporate Council, a group of female leaders whose goal it is to empower and inspire others within the New York Tech community and beyond.

She is also the recipient of numerous awards,  with Long Island Business News naming her as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business in recognition of her achievements in workforce and economic development three times.

Since 2018, Nada has served as Vice President for Strategic Communications and External Affairs, a role dedicated to articulating New York Tech's mission as a premier polytechnic that fosters technology innovation and entrepreneurship.

We have established the Nada Anid Scholarship Fund to support women in STEM at New York Tech to keep Nada's memory alive, and we are grateful for your support in her memory.

Personal note:

The Anid family would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your continued love, support and kindness during this difficult time. Over the years, we have witnessed Nada’s immeasurable impact on the New York Tech community and far beyond. She was a true force of nature and her loss leaves a gaping hole in our hearts and minds. We are honored to preserve Nada's legacy and her unwavering dedication to educating women in STEM. With thanks, Paul, Ingrid and Audrée.
