Woo-hoo!

Happy Anniversary to the SPCA of Tompkins County!

On Sunday, 10/10/2021, at 11:00 a.m., we are celebrating TEN YEARS  of Marching for the Animals!

We have a exciting news to share! We celebrate this important 10-year-milestone with a $10,000 Challenge Match from SPCA alumna, Willow! We have a new, larger location and more amenities (like real bathrooms and running water!), paved parking, and a socially-distant box lunch option in the spacious, large pavilion at Stewart Park in Ithaca.

Willow says, "sound pretty amazing so far?  We hope so!"

How about a bonus! This year YOU can choose how YOU want to participate!

Do you feel comfortable marching in person outdoors in the vast Stewart Park concluding with a socially distant lunch?

Do you prefer to march in your neighborhood or more secluded spot to stay closer to home?

Either way will help the animals!

You get to decide on your registration form!  Whatever option you choose you will get our special 10-year-anniversary edition of our iconic t-shirt in a classic athletic gray to wear while you march. Sweet!

Paws down, the March for the Animals is the most important SPCA fundraiser of the year.

We rely deeply on the funds raised to take care of more than 1,600+ animals a year. All the donations help cover medical costs and care for every animal that comes through our doors, 365 days and 52 weeks a year.

Six days a week we facilitate adoptions--by private, personalized, one-on-one appointments. Adopters continually tell us they love this new way of adopting with a true focus on what they are looking for in a new furry family member.

You make these adoptions possible by asking your friends for their help to meet your personally-set fundraising goal. This is what makes the March for the Animals a success each year.

Gifts of any size help, and indeed, truly add up to support our goal.

No matter how many friends you ask, individual participants and adult members of fundraising teams should attempt with all your heart and soul to raise the individual minimum of $100.00 (in addition to your registration fee)  and youth marchers should attempt with all their youthful enthusiasm to raise $50 to really help the SPCA of Tompkins County animals.

Share your story on how much your pets mean to you and why animal shelters are so important in our  world.

Okay, we're in!  How do we register?

Click on the REGISTER button at the top to get started.

Remember to choose your participation style on the registration form, in person at Stewart Park or virtual around your neighborhood.

Then, create a team of family and friends with a fun team name to generate even greater enthusiam for your fundraising efforts.  Or fundraise as your own solo tour de force.  The sky is the limit and the animals to be helped grows exponentially greater.

Look for regular emails from our SPCA Executive Director, Jim Bouderau, to give you guidance and answer any questions you may have.

No matter where you march, take lots of photos with your phone and tag the SPCA on Facebook and Instagram with @spcaoftomkinscounty or on Twitter use @SPCAofTC. Please use our hashtag #SPCATENYEARSMARCHING.

In the meantime, mark Sunday, 10/10/21 on your calendar to support the SPCA of Tompkins County!
