Once upon a time...
there was a large, successful Catholic High school kept vibrant by all the small parish schools in the area. It was supported by the parishes, and the teachers were the Franciscan priests and sisters who were in great supply. The spiritual and educational quality was exceptional and the supporters were loyal and proud of their Eagles.... ...As the years passed...
many parish schools closed and the religious educators dwindled. They were replaced by talented lay teachers, but the population of the school continued to decrease as the parish schools began to disappear. But the school kept going, even though things were getting a bit rocky......Then one day...
someone noticed a local parish school still doing quite well, and suggested combining the High School with it to form a regional school with all the grades. They would incorporate a Montessori program and work all the way up to the prestigious International Baccalaureate diploma......Because of that...
the people and the community who loved the school and what it represented began to provide support to keep it going . Because of that, it began to thrive again. The school population became diverse, the education became more rigorous, and the spiritual light was kept alive.In fact, the Eagles again began to SOAR: with “Spiritual Openness and Academic Rigor” Until finally, the community’s wonderful educational option: a school that encouraged everyone to excel academically and develop spiritually, no matter what their faith, lived successfully on. And the Eagles soared again!
