The World Affairs Council of El Paso started in 2016 as the World Affairs Council of the North American Borderplex to promoted education about current world affairs in our community. It is the only World Affairs Council of America that includes two countries and three states. It hosted the first World Quest, a competition between 33 different high schools in the region which included El Paso, Las Cruces, and Cd. Juarez. Franklin High School was the local winner. The winning students were able to go to Washington, D.C., all expenses paid, to compete nationally with other students. The World Affairs Council of El Paso, fosters education and the learning needed to be world leaders and promote world understanding and peace.
