Raise the Roof at Woodstock School of Art

Help Restore our Historic Buildings!

A fundraising campaign for Woodstock School of Art

We need your help! An important part of the mission of Woodstock School of Art (WSA) is to preserve and maintain the historic buildings for continued use as an art school. Last year, our HV Gives campaign helped us to secure the matching funds needed to replace the roof on our drawing and painting studios.

This year we are seeking your support to "Raise the Roof" on the building that houses the Robert H. Angeloch Gallery and main office for the school. In 2017, our student counts were the highest ever, with over 800 youth and adults taking classes during the year. Another 600 visitors come to our gallery, which hosts 6─8 exhibitions annually. WSA also hosts artist lectures, art materials demonstrations and other events. The continued quality of these types of events brings a steady stream of visitors to the school from Woodstock, Ulster County, and beyond.

There are many organizations to choose from on this day of giving, so why help us Raise the Roof?

Generally, there is a feeling that WSA is home to the students who enroll. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and there is a palpable presence of joy in people who are self-actualizing and engaging in creative endeavors in a friendly environment.

Here is what are students are saying:

“You have changed my life…I wish I could be there EVERY DAY.  – Susan S.

“My time painting at Woodstock School of Art is one of the happiest moments of my life”. Anne-Marie C.

“I am in awe of the work, the community and the medium. I feel honored to be a part of the community and to support the school and the work of so many talented people” – Joanna K.

"I can say with confidence that this is the finest learning facility for the arts that I have ever been a part of, and the (Thompson Family Foundation) scholarship makes that entirely possible." - Joyce M.

We hope you join us on this day of giving.
