Join Habitat for Humanity of Tompkins and Cortland Counties for our 8th Annual Women Build Weekend event!

What's Women Build, you ask?  Women Build is one of Habitat for Humanity's construction programs, allowing female volunteers from all walks of life to come together to build stronger, safer communities.

Though our neighborhoods are comprised largely of women and children, they are also the populations most likely to be affected by poor living conditions.  Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program provides the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities.

No experience is necessary.  As a Women Build volunteer, you'll work under the guidance of local construction professionals, and also alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners.  Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and improves the community that we share.

Women Build is also a terrific way to involve your friends and family in crucial work with a lasting impact. Women helping women sends a positive and powerful message. You can also come alone, and make new friends. The atmosphere is collaborative and friendly.

Women Build Weekend is just a two-day taste of what our program is all about.  Join us for a few hours, or two full days, and we'll provide education, power tool training, camaraderie and empowerment.  As we learn, we'll construct the wall panels for a Habitat home.  And, as we build one another up, we'll be building community, too.

Are you ready to build with us?

This year, we'll be building on Friday and Saturday, May 11th and 12th, at Lowe's in Ithaca, located at 130 Fairgrounds Memorial Parkway.  We're grateful to our friends at Lowe's for their partnership (and their free parking, helpful staff and clean bathrooms!).
