What is a Woman Build?    

    Since 1991, Habitat for Humanity has hosted an annual Women BuildWomen Build opportunities are available across the United States. These builds bring women in the community together to promote the involvement of women in the construction industry while helping Habitat partner families get one step closer to homeownership. The Women Build works to recruit, nurture, and train women in construction. This is an opportunity for women to proactively engage, and make a tangible impact in Sheridan County. In a collaborative and friendly atmosphere this build sends the positive and powerful message of, "women helping women." Over 50 women locally will join together with 17,000 women nationally to proactively engage in creating a tangible impact in their home communities. 

Registration     

    Anyone (16+) is invited to participate, no previous construction experience or knowledge is required. Volunteers will work along side a professional construction supervisor, and Habitat partner families. Are you ready to build with us?

    Participants are encouraged to raise $100 ($500 per team), however, any donation is welcome. All proceeds directly benefit Habitat programs in Sheridan, Wyoming. Funds are due by the end of the build day, August 8th!

    Spots are limited. We invite 10 teams or 50 individuals to join us on the job site from August 4th to August 8th . Teams can be NO larger than 5 people. Due to COVID-19 and social distancing practices we have decided to limit volunteer groups to 5 volunteers at a time.  Thus, one women build group will build in the morning, and the other in the afternoon (see below for the full list of COVID-19 safety precautions*).

   When registering please select what day you/your team would like to build, and whether you/your team would like to  build in the morning or afternoon. Visit sheridanhabitat.org for more information, or to check out last year’s event success. Event Schedule: (August 4th - August 8th)

Morning Build Session (Maximum: 1 Team - 5 people)

9:00 am - Registration begins 

9:30 am – Welcome Message and Safety Briefing 

9:45 am– Construction Begins 

11:45am - Construction Ends

Afternoon Build Session (Maximum: 1 Team- 5 people)

12:00 pm- Registration begins 

12:30 pm – Welcome Message and Safety Briefing

12:45 pm – Construction Begins

Clean-up and the conclusion of the event will be at 3:00pm.


*COVID-19 Safety Guidelines: 

- 5 Volunteers per shift

- Maintain Social distancing

- Bring your own mask (subject to change)

- Bring your own lunch

- Wash your hand upon arrival 

- If you have recently travelled outside of the state, or feel ill PLEASE stay home!

**While HFHEB is doing everything we can to provide and maintain a clean, sanitary job site, we cannot completely eliminate the risk of exposure to volunteers. All participants volunteer at their own risk.**
