Willie Carter Tournament Golf Ball Drop

Enter the Golf Ball Drop Contest at the 23rd Annual Willie Carter Tuskegee Airmen Memorial to help develop a pipeline of diverse aviators in Hudson Valley

A fundraising campaign for RedTail Flight Academy

The Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. is proud to support the Hudson Valley in the form of tuition assistance to high school seniors in pursuit of higher education.

Each year, the Willie Carter Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Golf Classic golf tournament not only supports our Tuskegee Airmen tuition assistance program but also provides funding for the Lee A. Archer Jr. Red Tail Youth Flying Program, keeping the legacy of excellence and stories of the pioneering Tuskegee Airmen heroes alive as part of American history.

Willie Carter changed the lives of so many young men and women as an innovative Principal at Mechanicstown Elementary School (renamed the Willie A. Carter Elementary School in his honor) in Middletown NY. Known as an exceptional golfer and teacher, Willie has vaulted to urban-legend status.

Unfortunately due to Hurricane Henri, the Golf Ball Drop Contest at the 23rd Annual Willie Carter Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Golf Classic at West Hills Country Club has been postponed but gives us more time to reach our goal!

This year’s Golf Ball Drop Contest will benefit the launch of Lee A. Archer Jr. Red Tail Youth Flying Program’s RedTail Flight Academy, a state-of-the-art training facility that will develop six students into aviation leaders through a 10-month, 14 CFR Part 141 training program, providing them with commercial multi-instrument certifications as they earn flight hours and embark on a career in aviation.

The winner of the Golf Ball Drop contest will receive a 1-week stay in Las Vegas during the first week of 2022.
