Denver Inner City Parish and Hunger Free Colorado are partnering for an interactive walking event that will honor the history of the La Alma Neighborhood, bring the community together, raise awareness about hunger and provide support for local and statewide solutions to end hunger.
We invite community members, fellow nonprofit organizations, supporters, neighborhood groups and local businesses to join us in the event. The walk begins and ends in the La Alma neighborhood with a stop on the Auraria Campus to celebrate the history of a displaced neighborhood and highlight our respective efforts to address hunger. This event is an intentional investment in a historic neighborhood and community. It draws a thread between issues happening at the local, state and national level by inviting community members to lift-up this community and its history and its role in transformational change.
Participants can support by walking in solidarity with our community to show collective unity in working towards community-driven, lasting solutions to end hunger statewide. Participants can also provide support by helping Denver Inner City Parish and Hunger Free Colorado raise funds to continue our progress toward eliminating food insecurity.
