For more than half a century, the UNLV School of Nursing has contributed to the advancement of health care through its student-focused curriculum, hands-on training and experienced staff. We aim to prepare expert clinicians who are socially responsible and poised to meet the needs of our patients. The Community Engagement Fund enables the UNLV School of Nursing to support projects that help to improve the health of individuals in Nevada.
Imagine current and future students having the opportunity to provide health care in underserved and socio-economically depressed areas. The hands-on experience better prepare students for handling the myriad of circumstances that inhibit or block access to health care, strengthens their critical thinking skills, and encourages them to seek and implement potential solutions.
