The Woman's Club of Ridgewood needs your help.
2020 has been a challenging year for individuals and institutions alike. We are looking forward to better days ahead when we can host in-person events and raise money to fund our scholarship trust, give to the women's and children's charities that we support, and maintain our historic clubhouse. We hope that time comes soon.
Until then, there is a sense of urgency surrounding the preservation of our iconic clubhouse. The building is nearly one hundred years old, and as you can imagine, requires constant care. The essential operating expenditures, such as insurance, utilities, salaries, and overall building upkeep, remains constant, not to mention structural maintenance. The building is rapidly declining into disrepair. We do not have the funds to stay on top of its needs. We are desperate to recover the financial losses that we've incurred as a result of the pandemic.
We are looking to you, our neighbors, to help us recover. We hope to repair and restore a list of critical safety issues at the clubhouse. Our walkway and sidewalks are unsafe, the front pillars and our roof are rotting, and the interior requires aesthetic upgrades. These improvements will allow us to re-open our rental space securely when it's safe to do so.
We hope you will consider giving what you can to help us save this Ridgewood landmark.
