The Vet Bills Just Keep Coming!

These horses have earned the right to be cared for.

A fundraising campaign for Draft Gratitude

Holy Moly!

At the beginning of the year, we saved three horses.  Sol joined us in January.  Then Rex and Odin joined us in March.

Each of the three came with significant needs well above the ordinary:

  • Sol was diagnosed with cushings disease and needed 3 molar extractions in addition to a dermatitis issue on his legs.
  • Rex needed extensive dental care including 5 molar extractions, blood work, and is being fed a diet that excludes hay.
  • Odin needed hoof care, molar extractions, sinus drain, antibiotics, and is exhibiting some neurological signs.

In addition to that, we have more advanced veterinary cases on our plate:

  • Bill has paraphismosis and had surgery for a partial penis amputation at Cornell on May 24th.
  • Cindy has a chronic sinusitis that requires a standing surgery.

We will not ignore any of this.  We will always take care of the horses that need us.

This is the nature of the beast for Draft Gratitude.

When you commit to rescuing aged farming horses that have been working their whole lives, they often are going to come with a "something".

In fact, often the reason they end up here is because there is something wrong with them that someone else didn't want to deal with.

We know that you care as much as we do about these horses' welfare.

And that is why we are asking for your help today.

Please help us cover Sol, Rex, Odin, Bill, and Cindy's needs as we continue to cover their care and replenish our medical fund so that we are ready for the next one that needs us.

Thank you for believing in the work we are doing!
