Please join this small group of Chautauquans in supporting the Salvation Army of Jamestown, which operates the largest food pantry in Chautauqua County. We are a close-knit community that would normally gather on Saturday mornings during the summer in Smith Memorial Library to discuss short stories and who are concerned for our neighbors in Chautauqua County. The Salvation Army operates the largest food pantry in Chautauqua County. We provide clients with three days of emergency food, diapers, formula, hygiene products and pet food once a month. We also offer bread and produce more often as it is donated daily from local businesses.
The Salvation Army offers a comprehensive program providing services to adult and child victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our goal is to promote the health and well-being of the people in Chautauqua County by ensuring the availability of quality, comprehensive crisis intervention services to all victims of domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault. The Center is committed to assisting victims and their families by providing shelter, responding to hospital calls, accompanying clients to court, assisting with obtaining orders of protection, offering medical and legal advocacy, support groups, case management, prevention education, and counseling, all of which can be accessed through the Center's 24-hour crisis hotline.
We also host an after-school program to children from low-income families. We do activities in our gym, teach them music on an instrument of their choice and bring them ice skating at the local ice rink.
Our Emergency Disaster Relief Vehicle offers support to first responders of local disasters.
