The Marynell Maloney Memorial Challenge Campaign

There's No Place Like Home

A fundraising campaign for San Antonio Pets Alive!

Every day at the city’s municipal animal shelter, healthy, ready for adoption dogs are at-risk to lose their lives.

Dogs like Hercules.  Hercules is a beautiful, healthy boxer-mix with warm brown eyes and wiggle that only a boxer can pull off.

Hercules, three-years-old, heartworm negative, neutered and on the euthanasia list.

It was almost the end for Hercules. Lost and overlooked among hundreds of other dogs, his time was up.

A healthy, wiggle butt with nothing but time against him.

Thanks to donors like you, the San Antonio Pets Alive! team is the leader on the frontline – ready to save lives every single day, lives like that of Hercules.

Our team jumped into action sending out pleas for his life, asked potential fosters to make room, asked adopters to step forward, and sent out alerts to rescue partners across the country – seeking others to consider letting us relocate Hercules to their shelters through our Headin' Home Transport Program.

The dogs in our transport program have run out of options in San Antonio and transporting them saves their lives. This program has a goal of saving the lives of 1,500 dogs each year.

We shared Hercules’ bio and photo – Hercules, healthy, full of joy, great with children and other dogs – and a shelter in Idaho immediately jumped at the opportunity to find him a family.

On the day Hercules boarded the plane, leaving San Antonio for his new life, the SAPA! team loaded up 50 other dogs at Kelly Airfield.  Hercules was among them, the lucky ones!

Today, we ask you to make a gift to support our Headin’ Home Transport Program.
Right now you can make an impact by participating in our 2018
Marynell Maloney Memorial Challenge Campaign.

The Marynell Maloney Memorial Challenge Campaign will contribute $17,000 to San Antonio Pets Alive! when $50,000 is raised by September 29.

Marynell was a San Antonio attorney who lived her life as an animal lover and voice for those without one. Her daughter, Michelle Maloney, says:
“It’s my pleasure to offer this matching gift to support San Antonio Pets Alive!’s Headin Home Transport Program in memory of my beloved mother. She would be proud to know her legacy lives on by helping save the lives of dogs in San Antonio.”

There is still more work to be done to create a

humane city and we can’t do it alone, we need you.

Your gift saves the lives of 1,500 dogs just like Hercules. Dogs who aren’t asking for much other than a family of their own.

For dogs, there's no place like home.
