Thankful Hearts at the Ulster County SPCA

A fundraising campaign for Ulster County SPCA

Here at the Ulster County SPCA, the hearts of our shelter animals and staff are overflowing with gratitude.

Our dogs express their gratitude in tail wags, and sloppy kisses. Brownie is grateful for the 2,000 lbs of dry dog food that are donated every year by members of our community. Mia can’t thank you enough for supporting a no-kill shelter like the Ulster County SPCA, so she can wait in safety and loving care until she finds the perfect fur-ever home. And Diamond appreciates beyond words how your donations make possible live-saving medical care. At the Ulster County SPCA, thanks to your generosity, it is never a matter of cost when it comes to providing medical care to the abused, neglected or homeless animals brought to us.

Our cats give their thanks in head-butts and snuggles. Nala is grateful for the donations that support our low-cost spay/neuter clinic, so cats like her can avoid birthing 4 or more litters of potentially homeless kittens each year. Peg appreciates that when an owner is forced to surrender their animal due to financial hardship or domestic violence, those cats and dogs have somewhere safe to go.

And Harlequin can’t thank you enough for supporting the humane law efforts of the Ulster County SPCA, which investigates cases where animals are used for blood sport and unethical breeding practices, kept in cramped and unsanitary conditions, or intentionally harmed for entertainment or casual cruelty.

For 365 days a year, we shelter the animals of Ulster County, NY, providing medical care and adoption opportunities to every animal in our care. In 2019 alone, we have already sheltered 1,100 animals, investigated over 250 cases of animal cruelty, and found fur-ever homes for over 750 dogs, cats, and small animals!

As 2020 approaches, we need your help. We need to expand our shelter to accommodate more animals, including those rescued from shelters that are forced to euthanize due to space. We hope to increase our impact on the local feral cat communities and vaccinate more animals against rabies. We want to increase the services offered to our community, including a pet food pantry and low-cost spay/neuter services for families impacted by financial hardship. And as the only human law agency in the county, we intend to continue investigating cases of animal cruelty in our community.

You make all of this possible through your generosity. Every dollar you donate to the Ulster County SPCA goes to caring for these animals. We do not receive any funding from the ASPCA, or any federal, state or county agency.

THANK YOU for your support. Thank you from Brownie, and Mia, and Diamond; from Nala, and Peg, and Harlequin. And thank you from all the staff and volunteers here at the Ulster County SPCA.

THANK YOU!

December 3, 2019

We can't thank you all enough for your support! We reached our goal of $3,000 by 4pm! That's amazing! If we can raise another $1,000 before the end of the day, we can plan to provide medical care for more homeless animals, rescue more animals from shelters forced to euthanize, and provide our community with even more services in 2020. Thank you so much for ever penny you contribute towards our mission!!!
