A fundraising campaign for College Houses

If you've ever set foot in 21st Street Cooperative, you know that its wooden outside walkways are what give the co-op its signature "tree house" feel. These walkways have carried generations of co-opers, but the time has come to replace them. This is a huge project for College Houses, and we need your help to preserve this historic and beloved house for many more generations to come.

Whether you used to live here, came here to see bands and meet new friends, or just love this unique gem of community in West Campus, please consider pitching in to keep 21st Street a safe and vibrant community space!

About 21st Street Cooperative

21st Street Cooperative, located at 707 W 21st St. in the heart of West Campus, is one of the seven student houses owned and operated by the cooperative College Houses. 21st Street is a "co-op" because the students who live there work together to maintain the buildings, cook communal meals, and make decisions about how the community is run. This model of community living keeps housing costs low, and gives students the opportunity to become community leaders and take charge of their environment.

21st Street was built in 1974 — the first structure in Austin to be designed and constructed specifically for use as a student housing co-op, and one of the oldest such house in the US, if not the world. 21st Street Cooperative is a truly special place that holds cherished memories for thousands of former residents and community members.
