Summer Mission Trip 2017

Help our youth travel to Greenwood, SC for our annual summer mission trip.

A fundraising campaign for Delta Hands for Hope

Delta Hands for Hope's high school youth leaders are learning what it means to be good leaders in their community. They regularly volunteer at Delta Hands for Hope and in the Shaw community. So far, they have volunteered over 2,000 hours! They also interact with a lot of volunteers that come from partner organizations to work with us in Shaw. One of these groups is First Baptist Church Greenwood, SC, who came for a mission trip last summer.

In a few weeks, we will be traveling to South Carolina to work with local partner agencies of First Baptist Greenwood, including Connie Maxwell Children's Home, Pathway House, and the Greater Greenwood United Community Soup Kitchen. We will also be hosted by several families for dinner, swimming, and boating at Lake Greenwood! The youth will also tour Lander University. The 12 youth that will be going on the mission trip are very excited about volunteering in a different town and meeting new people in Greenwood. Can you help us with the cost for transportation, lodging, and food while in SC?

Greenwood is my home, and First Baptist Church is my home church.  I was so excited to welcome the youth group I grew up in to Shaw last year, and I'm just as excited to bringing my youth leaders to Greenwood to see where I grew up and went to school, the wonderful agencies in Greenwood that gave me opportunities to volunteer as a youth, and the many people who are supporting Delta Hands for Hope. Also, by bringing my youth to Greenwood, the congregation at First Baptist will be able to have one-on-one experience with the children and youth they are supporting.
