Summer Frenzy Fundraiser

Summer is a busy time at Great River Rescue, and it is hard to keep up with the need! Please help us continue to provide needed care for the pets.

A fundraising campaign for Great River Rescue

It's Been a Busy Summer at Great River Rescue

All of us at Great River Rescue are working hard to save as many pets as we can.  The need in our community never stops, and in fact, it can get crazy during the summer.  Unfortunately, our funding tends to slow down during these summer months!  We are in need a boost to help us meet our financial obligations this summer and continue to save as many animals as possible.  Here's just a brief look at what we've been doing this summer:

From June 1 to July 20 Great River Rescue has:

Adopted out 18 dogs and 39 cats - 55 overall

Fostered to Adopt an additional 13 dogs and 14 cats - 27 overall

And we've had 1 dog and 5 cats reclaimed

So in the first 50 days of this summer we've saved 88 animals!

At the same time we've had requests to take-in 133 animals.  We've been able to actually take-in 55 of those animals so far.  Each one has received quality care including vaccines, preventive care treatments, food, personal attention from trained staff, and more.  Additionally, we've spayed/neutered 27 animals each at a cost of $50 - $100.

Can you help us get through this busy time?  We've set a goal of raising $2,500 in the next few weeks to help us continue to provide this care for shelter pets until they get to their new forever home.  If you can't donate financially, are there any supplies you could provide?  Here is a list of our most needed items right now:

  • Cat litter (scoopable or non-scoopable)
  • Kitten Food
  • Adult Cat Food
  • Puppy Food
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Bleach

Any of these items can be dropped off at the shelter or one of the bins at the Lueken's grocery stores.

Thank you for your continued support and for believing in our work.  Whether you are able to give today or not, please spread the word about our work.  Please stop by our shelter any time we are open to visit the pets and learn more about our work.  You could also consider becoming a volunteer dog walker or cat socializer.  We really depend on you!
