All donations made to the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County during Spring It On will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000!

So, donate $10 and United Way will receive $20! Donate $50 and United Way will receive $100! 

Your donation during Spring It On will have twice the impact and help ensure high-quality childcare is made available for working families and especially those participating in apprenticeship programs through the American Apprenticeship Initiative.

Research proves, high-quality early education and parent engagement is a critical component and indicator of:

• academic achievement
• economic development
• health outcomes 
• crime prevention  

By increasing access to high-quality early childhood development supports, we have the opportunity to break-down barriers to parent career training and ensure children are ready to learn, achieve success in school, compete in the global economy and contribute to thriving and healthy communities.  

Where Will the Money Go?

The United Way of Buffalo & Erie County along with the Birth to 8 Coalition have several initiatives to make childcare more accessible and more impactful for working families:

• provide resources to facilitate the opening of more childcare facilities in areas with a high population of working families
• provide resources to already existing childcare facilities so they may hire additional staff to be open during second and third shift hours
• provide resources to assist eligible families in paying for childcare related costs
• provide resources for additional training sessions for staff of childcare facilities so children are receiving the best care possible
