About Buffalo Prep
Buffalo Prep is once again participating in the United Way's Spring it On event, a unique 24-hour online give-a-thon, starting March 24th at 8:00am until 8:00am on March 25th. We hope to mobilize community members for 24-hours of giving to strengthen and support Buffalo Prep! Your donation will go directly towards students participating in Buffalo Prep's summer and after-school academic enrichment programs. It only takes a little bit of your time to make a huge difference. Giving online is fast, simple, and secure.Your support will not only help us reach our goal of $5,000 but more importantly, it will help make our community a better place by affording opportunities and resources to students in need.
Buffalo Prep was founded in 1989 by civic-minded community leaders who recognized that Buffalo's disadvantaged students were limited in their educational options. Using the Prep-for-Prep model, a highly successful program in New York City, the founders created Buffalo Prep to accelerate and prepare talented, low-income students for entrance into private, independent and competitive public schools.
Each year, more than 500 economically disadvantaged underrepresented students across the city participate in academic and enrichment classes that inspire their dreams, ignite their passion for learning, and prepare them for success in Buffalo Prep's partner schools, college, and ultimately in life.
Following a rigorous application process, Buffalo Prep's students attend accelerated classes and programs that dramatically improve their academic performance. Through Buffalo Prep, they gain access to the city's finest public and private college preparatory high schools, giving them a top quality education, mentoring, comradery, and support.Buffalo Prep works constantly to support its students and families throughout its unique pipeline of programs. This intensive approach ensures that 100% of Buffalo Prep's scholars are accepted to college.
