We need your help to ensure that high school students can continue to learn about health care careers through our MedQuest Therapeutic Services Program

What is MedQuest?
It's a rigorously structured program designed for students who would like to learn more about career opportunities available in the health care field. It is a co-ed, residential, four-day program held on the University of Vermont (UVM) campus. Students receive job shadow training, participate in interactive presentations and hands-on workshops. They travel to hospitals and community health centers, take part in job shadowing experiences, explore and strengthen skills and resources for health career development, increase their comfort in health care and college environments, interact with health care professionals and students, and much more. UVM Health Professions students help staff the program. There are three distinct MedQuest programs focusing on different career clusters.
What is the MedQuest Therapeutic Services Program?
During the MedQuest Therapeutic Services program, students explore healthcare occupations focused primarily on changing the health status of patients over time. They attend workshops in Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Basic Medical Skills and Physical Therapy. They will be trained in Infection Control, Confidentiality and CPR/AED, and participate in job shadows. The program culminates with a Telemedicine Surgery viewing.
Why do we need your support?
The cost of the MedQuest program is almost $1,000 per student. To make the program affordable and attainable for students in our region, we only charge $450, with full and partial scholarships available for those with a demonstrated need. We know the impact the MedQuest program can have on a high schooler.
"I support Champlain Valley AHEC and its programs because they have helped me to find where I belong in the myriad of possible careers. I support them because healthcare needs are only growing, and Vermont, and the entire country, need more young people to find their way to a rewarding career in this field. I support AHEC because I know that young people will continue to seek out these programs and that it will be just as important to them as it has been for me. I ask others to support Champlain Valley AHEC because this organization has already had a positive impact on future healthcare providers, and it will continue to do so for many years to come if we support it."
