Speaker: Helen Jonsen

Helen Jonsen is a communications strategist, media executive, and speaker with a career spanning journalism, digital innovation, public service, and nonprofit advocacy. Through her firm, Helen Jonsen media, she helps leaders, nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, and authors amplify their voices with strategic storytelling, speaker training, and modern communication tools. She is also the host and producer of This Kaleidoscope Career, a podcast and newsletter series celebrating women with nonlinear career paths.

Helen’s own kaleidoscope career has taken her from New York newsrooms to executive boardrooms to startups, and government agencies. She began as a TV journalist with WNYW-Fox 5, WPIX 11, and Australia’s Ten and 9 networks. At Forbes, she led the video network team and hosted The Balancing Act and CEO Spotlight, earning the nickname “our video guru” from Steve Forbes.

A longtime champion for women’s advancement, Helen led digital editorial at Working Mother Media. More recently, she managed strategic communications for the Westchester County District Attorney and NYC’s Economic Development Corporation during the pandemic and key social justice efforts.
