A fundraising event for SPCA of Tompkins County

Event Information

11:00am Sunday, October 09, 2022

On Sunday, 10/9/2022, at 11:00 a.m., we are celebrating our beloved pets by Marching for the Animals with family and friends to benefit the SPCA of Tompkins County.

For 2022, we are back at Stewart Park in the spacious Large Pavilion, after everyone raved about how pleasant and comfortable it was.  We love that it offers generous seating, bathrooms and running water, paved parking, and a paved walking path! We will have photos taken on the walk by Rachel Philipson Photography, and our delicious pre-bagged lunch option from Ithaca Bakery returns as well!  Fantastic!

This year YOU can once again choose how YOU want to participate!

Do you feel comfortable marching in person outdoors in Stewart Park concluding with a socially distant lunch?

Do you prefer to march in your neighborhood or more secluded spot to stay closer to home?

YOU get to indicate your preference on your registration form!  Whatever option you choose you will get our iconic (made and printed in the USA) t-shirt in a most cheery and universally-flattering hot pink to wear while you march. Very sweet!

Paws down, the March for the Animals is the most important SPCA fundraiser of the year.

We rely deeply on the funds raised to take care of more than 1,600+ animals a year. And what a year 2022 has been.  Our dog and cat population has returned to pre-pandemic numbers and our dog and cat wings are full. All the donations help cover medical costs and care for these animals that come through our doors, 365 days and 52 weeks a year.

Seven days a week we facilitate adoptions--by one-on-one appointments as well as walk-in appointments on Saturdays.

YOU make these adoptions possible by asking your friends for their help to meet your personally-set fundraising goal. This is what makes the March for the Animals a success each year.

Gifts of any size help, and indeed, truly add up to support our goal.

No matter how many friends you ask, individual participants and adult members of fundraising teams should attempt with all your heart and soul to raise the individual minimum of $100.00 (in addition to your registration fee)  and youth marchers should attempt with all their youthful enthusiasm to raise $50 to really help the SPCA of Tompkins County animals. Share your story on how much your pets mean to you and why animal shelters are so important in our  world.

Okay, we're in!  How do we register?
Click on the REGISTER button at the top to get started.

Remember to choose your participation style on the registration form, in person at Stewart Park or virtual around your neighborhood. If you are participating in person, choose your lunch, and don't forget to select your t-shirt size.

Then, create a team of family and friends with a fun team name to generate even greater enthusiam for your fundraising efforts.  Or fundraise as your own solo tour de force.  The sky is the limit and the animals to be helped grows exponentially greater.

Look for regular emails from our SPCA Executive Director, Jim Bouderau, to give you guidance and answer any questions you may have.

Take lots of photos with your phone and tag the SPCA on Facebook and Instagram with @spcaoftompkinscounty or on Twitter use @SPCAofTC.

In the meantime, mark Sunday, 10/9/22 on your calendar to support the SPCA of Tompkins County!
