The Task Force coordinates the only private sector ‘SNAP into Action—Idaho Food Stamp Education and Access Plan’ in the nation. Coordinating 11 organizational partners, the Plan identifies and tracks efforts to support the Idaho Food Stamp Program, increase participation by food insecure Idaho families, and train organizations on the program. In Idaho, almost 77% of Food Stamp participants are in families with children and more than 58% are in working families. The Food Stamp Program is our nation’s front line against hunger—keeping 54,000 people out of poverty, including 23,000 children, per year between 2009 and 2012 in Idaho.
By donating, you could help the Task Force maintain our Food Stamp "Train the Trainer" online curriculum and purchase training supplies to increase the capacity of our partner agencies to increase access to their client base.
By donating, you could assist in our efforts to increase the number of farmers markets who accept food stamps thereby increasing access to healthy local food and encouraging healthy food choices. We assist markets to become USDA approved food stamp vendors and purchase market tokens for their use.
