Affordable housing is an issue that is both a cause and a symptom of economic injustice. Shires Housing is committed to strengthening families and communities by providing quality, affordable housing and supportive services that serve as the foundation for so many other parts of our lives. Your donation will support the big plans we have for this coming year. Shires Housing is building 39 new units to add to our current stock of 369 rental units and 4 for-sale condos. We are continuing to provide assistance to over 450 disabled and elderly individuals living independently through the Support And Services at Home program. We are also expanding food access and wellness-based classes for our tenants. We are also creating opportunities for first-time homebuyers by constructing for-sale affordable homes with $60,000 in down-payment assistance for qualified buyers.
