It all started in 1947 in Edinburgh, Scotland, as an alternative festival that played alongside the Edinburgh International Festival. Since its humble origins in 1947 the Edinburgh Fringe has grown to become the largest performing arts event in the world and the model has been spread like wildfire -  Scranton is long overdue for a Fringe Festival of its own! Fringe festivals allow a community to come together to support local and global artists. Fringe includes theater, dance, comedy, cabaret, music, visual arts, and much more. The content for the 2015 Scranton Fringe Festival will range from squeaky clean to strictly for adults - there is something for everyone on the fringe! The Scranton Fringe Festival will be kept affordable for both artist and patron alike! Tickets will be priced at $10 per ticket per show (general) OR $7 per ticket (with fringe button - available for purchase at Gerrity's Supermarkets & other local establishments starting August 2015) per show AND artists will receive 50% of their box office revenue.
